Application of VTOL HF150 Hydrogen-Powered Vertical Takeoff and Landing UAV in Plateau Medical Material Transportation

In September 2023, a remote township hospital in Nagqu Prefecture, Tibet, experienced an acute altitude sickness outbreak, urgently requiring anti-altitude reaction drugs and first-aid equipment. Due to snow blocking the mountains causing road transport delays, and high helicopter dispatch costs with limited takeoff/landing conditions, the medical team used the VTOL HF150 hydrogen-powered vertical takeoff and landing UAV for emergency transport. This model features a 6-hour endurance, stable operation at -40°C, a 30kg payload capacity, and a thermostatic cargo module to ensure safe drug transportation in extreme environments.

During implementation, the UAV took off from the county hospital, flew along the preset route, and completed a one-way delivery in just 2 hours at a cruising speed of 110-125 km/h, saving 8 hours compared to traditional land transport. Through GNSS high-precision positioning (horizontal error ±1.5m), the UAV automatically landed at the township hospital’s 50m² takeoff/landing point and notified medical staff via SMS to collect the goods.

Within 3 days, the UAV completed 6 flights, delivering 180kg of medicine to cover 3 remote villages. The transportation cost was only 1/5 of the helicopter plan, with no need for ground infrastructure. In an environment with 8-level gusts and -25°C low temperatures, the UAV operated flawlessly, verifying the 高原 adaptability (plateau adaptability) of the hydrogen-powered system. This case demonstrates that the VTOL HF150 can provide rapid logistics solutions for transportation-challenged areas such as plateaus and islands, with future expansion potential into blood bank delivery, vaccine transportation, and other scenarios.
